My Soul

My Soul Aches
For Release
From the Ignorance
Of the World
Every Day
More needless
Suffering and hurt
Lives Destroyed in an Instant
War, Famine Poverty
And Pain
We fight
As if We have something to gain
Human Against human
Ripping, shredding, tearing
Plotting for survival
And yet never Preparing

My Soul Aches
For freedom from
The unknown of
Death and Afterlife
I wonder at the past
Present and Future
Hoping to find sense
To a seemingly
Meaningless life
I want to stand out
A beacon of Light
In a throng,
A Crowd of people
Repeating their
Daily patterns
Unquestioning and unknowing

My Soul Aches
For an answer
To why Mankind
Destroy The Gift
Of life and Breath
Mother Earth pleads
For a reprieve
From the posion we feed her
Black gold and smog
Slowly destroying
Infecting and Murdering

And i sit and Wonder
What God would allow this
Ancient and Continuing
Torment to Continue

My Soul shatters
Aches
And i continue to
Ponder
Why

Dolet anima mea
Mon âme souffre

So it begins

And so it begins. The year we have all been dreading yet anticipating with heavy hearts is so close to being upon us. I looked around last night at the year 12 valedictory, and all week at the departing year 12's and the raw emotion that each person felt for one another, this year was truly a talented and great bunch. Coming from a school and attempting to integrate into a completely new system, from 60 kids i knew well, to 175 kids of whom i knew about 1/3 (and know still only know 3/4 of them) was incredibly difficult, however as i look back worth every second of the challenge. As Vice Captain of the school i have come to know and love, i really want to say thank you to the year 12's who in the space of only a week i have come to know so many of. They are inspiring and amazing and though i could only name about 20, have truly touched me to become a better person and to create a better year for the class of 2011. The year is so close to ending and the greatest challenge we as a year could possibly face is rushing up so close. I must say i am a complete nervous wreck, however i cannot wait for the beginning of 2011, the beginning of the most eventful year of my life, the beginning of something special and the launchpad for my life.

Found this extremley funny letter failry sure its being sarcastic

Dear Dr. Laura:

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from your show, and try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate. I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the other specific laws and how to follow them:

When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness - Lev.15:19- 24. The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?

A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this?

Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?

Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?

I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? - Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

I know you have studied these things extensively, so I am confident you can help. Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.

Your Devoted Fan Jim

Journalist ethics

Never Believe anything unless it has been officially denied. Monash Lecturer Quoting famous Journalist whose name escapes me.
was Recently attending the Monash University experience day and was talked to by the head Journalism Lecturer who gave a seminar on Journalist ethics and Basics. It was simply amazing. My views on how news is presented was completely altered ,especially in situations such as the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Next year i will be undertaking a course named International Studies(in year 12) that looks at the wars going on in today's world with a high focus on terrorism and the aftermath of 9/11. My mind attention thoughts and feelings were all completely entrapped by this man as i listened to whether a man with a camera should stop brutal beatings or film the story to rely the message around the world effectively helping these people whose suffering and deaths allowed the news to travel around the world. I sat addicted as he explained that a women in the Africa's was fired from her BBC job for not filming and witnessing a demonstrated mass executions because she was sickened by the event. My passion and hope for the future is to become a Journalist or Lawyer by completing a double degree of Law/Arts i can tell you now this lecture will stay with me for the rest of my life and hopefully career. Please tell me your thought on the two situations i have presented as well as any others that you may have heard of.
